Day-by-day Itinerary
- Day 1: Hohhot Arrival & Xilamuren GrasslandXilamuren Grassland
Welcome to join this 3 days Inner Mongolia tour! Please arrive at Hohhot Baita Airport or train station between 8:30 am-10:00 am. Upon arrival, our local guide and driver will be ready to greet you at the exit gate.
Then, start your Inner Mongolia tour with a visit to Xilamuren Grassland less touristy. One of the most popular grasslands in Inner Mongolia, Xilamuren Grassland is endowed with spectacular lush natural beauty and is host to diverse grassland activities.
Upon arrival, you’ll be instantly welcomed by a warm welcome ceremony. Local Mongolians wearing their national dress will greet you with wine and Hada to express their best wishes. It is proper to receive the Hada with both hands.
If you like, you can then select a horse yourself and challenge the horseback riding. (optional, at your own expense.)
After that, you can enjoy the large-scale outdoor live-action drama – Legend of Monan to learn Mongolian history over 800 years ago. Many traditional art performances and activities of Inner Mongolia are performed in the drama, such as wrestling, horse racing, and equestrianism.

You are recommended to get up around 4:00 am if you want to catch the magnificent sunrise view. For those who can’t get up so early, it is also enjoyable to have a morning wandering around the yurt and appreciate the fresh air and picturesque grassland and tranquil lake.
After a simple breakfast, drive about 3.5 hours to Kubuqi Desert. En route, you’ll encounter an impressive bridge crossing the Yellow River, and get a rare chance to enjoy the eye-catching vista of Ordos Plateau.
Thrilling activities in the Kubuqi DesertAfter getting to the hinterland of Kubuqi Desert, it is time to entertain yourself with a lot of thrilling desert activities, including a camel ride, sand sliding, off-road ATV riding on sand dunes, etc. (all are optional, at your own expense). If you are a hiking fan, a guide will escort you to hike for a while in the desert.
Your guide will leave you for 2-3 hours to have fun in the desert. After that, drive for about 2 hours to Hohhot.
